What about ear candles? Do they work?
No, evidence suggest that claims of creating a chimney like vacuum strong enough to remove wax are not physically possible with the candle. A number of studies have shown that while it may be a relaxing experience that wax was still present in the ear after candling. There are also concerns about the risk of injury, both from burns and inserting the candle into the delicate ear canal.
